Saturday November 15th 2025 I ran the NFL Monaco in Monte Carlo in Monaco. Find below my full race coverage from this 8-days ultramarathon event and a few tourist impressions from Monte Carlo.
Monte Carlo (Monaco)
Monte Carlo and Monaco are known for basically three things, all of which I did not see: Grace Kelly, the casino and the Formula 1 race. What did see, however, was the Hercule Habour, some of the impressive yachts and the famous hill-climbing appartment buildings making Monte Carlo easy identifiable in pictures and movies. I did also – as you see below – enjoy a beautiful view towards the sea from my hotel room, this was Saturday when the sky was blue and life was easy.

NFL Monaco 2025
The event “No Finish Line Monaco” (NFL Monaco) has existed since 1999 but seems to be very little known outside Monaco, France perhaps, and perhaps ultramarathon communities? The race supports charity for each registrered kilometer for ALL runners, walkers, children which makes the event very diverse in terms of participants and mileages. Formally, there is a 8-day race and a 24-hours race where runners actually compete but 99% of all participants log “something else”, everything from 1K to, well, whatever. It all adds up and counts in the charity donation.
Personally, I logged 45K and could thus claim my marathon/ultra country no. 95; Monaco. A few international friends were there, Felix Allen (UK), Roger Andersson (Sweden), Sally Shreeves (USA) and, notably, the overall winner of the 8-days event, Justine Houteer of France, claiming 928 km and the new womens record of the race: Out of this world – and it looked so easy. Congrats!
